The Saints and Sinners Literary Festival is New Orleans' premier LGBTQ Lit Fest in the South. Listen to your favorite authors and raise money for AIDS charity NO/AIDS.

Originally designed to get the word out about AIDS through writers, the S&S Lit Fest has become a widely known conference of top writers, Masters classes and panels discussing writings, LGBTQ issues and writing as a whole within the community.

The Masters Classes Offered in New Orleans

There is a huge diversity of Masters Classes being offered, most at a price of $25.00 each. Learn about book contracts with Michael Gross (from the Authors Guild), learn to write historical fiction with Jess Wells, or learn how to write medical scenes with Radclyffe.

There are also a ton of panels lined up, included in the registration fee. They cover a wide variety of issues writers face, including writing in a depressed market, how to write in different genres, how to write while keeping a full time "real" job, and how to develop tension in your novel.

The Location of the Saints and Sinners Literary Festival

New Orleans, Louisiana has long been known as the decadent center of Mardi Gras celebrations and the frivolity of the French Quarter. But it is also the home of Jazz, French-Creole cuisine, and a culture found no where else in the world.

The Festival’s headquarters will be at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. Built in the 1800’s, it is old for a building in the USA, and it’s location in the heart of the French Quarter makes it a perfect base for exploring this city of unique treasures and delicious seafood. Also in use for the Festival will be the oddly named Napoleon’s Itch – Wine and Martini Loft, and the Bourbon Pub and Parade, gay nightclub extraordinaire.

More recently the subject of news due to the horrors that followed in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans' fighting spirit has continued the healing of their precious community, and The French Quarter remains alive and buzzing with bars, shops, music and food that make any visit there a trip to be remembered.

Just a few of the esteemed authors attending this year are:

And while you're there, you'll be supporting a wonderful cause.

Reading, listening, laughing, and learning in the French Quarter in the Spring. What could be better?
